We want you to be happy with your Voo Doo Pooch Soap. Please read this policy before placing an order or returning an item.

When returning, contact Your Color Puppy, LLC within 5 days of delivery to request a return. Please include your order number and the reason for the return. Wait for return instructions before shipping your soap.

For a return based on a change of mind, the soap must be unused, in its original box. The customer is responsible for return shipping costs. We recommend using a trackable shipping service and packing the glass securely. Original shipping charges are nonrefundable for change-of-mind returns.

Because handmade soap behaves differently from store-bought chemical detergents, many "problems" customers encounter are normal characteristics of artisan soap or simple storage mistakes that can be fixed instantly.

Artisan Soap Troubleshooting Guide

Before you request a return, please review our quick care guide below! Because our bars are handcrafted in small batches using natural oils and ingredients, they behave a bit differently than mass-produced, store-bought factory bars. Most minor issues can be easily fixed at home!

1. "My soap is melting or getting soft too fast."

• Why it happens: Natural soap contains glycerin, a natural byproduct of the soapmaking process. Glycerin is a humectant, meaning it draws moisture to your skin. However, if the bar sits in a puddle of water or under a streaming showerhead, it will draw that water into the bar and dissolve quickly.
• The Quick Fix: Always use a draining soap dish that allows water to escape. Keep your soap away from direct shower spray between uses. Letting the bar completely dry out between showers will instantly double its lifespan!

2. "There is a powdery white film on my soap."

• Why it happens: This white powder is called soda ash. It happens naturally when the active lye in fresh soap comes into contact with air during the curing process. It is completely harmless and safe, and it does not affect the quality or safety of the soap.

 

• The Quick Fix: You don't need to do anything! The very first time you use the soap in the shower, the white film will wash away instantly, revealing the vibrant colors underneath.

3. "My soap looks like it is 'sweating' oil or water."

• Why it happens: Again, this is thanks to our skin-loving glycerin! In high-humidity environments (such as a steamy bathroom or during humid summer months), the soap draws moisture from the air, creating tiny, dewy droplets on the bar's surface. It is not bleeding chemicals or expiring.
• The Quick Fix: Simply wipe the bar down with a dry paper towel or start using it! Once the bar is regularly introduced to water in the shower, the sweating stops.

4. "The colors look slightly different than the photo online."

• Why it happens: Every single bar we make is hand-poured, hand-cut, and crafted in unique small batches. Because we use natural colorants, clays, and botanicals, no two batches—and no two bars—will ever look identical.
• The Quick Fix: Embrace the art! Your bar is a one-of-a-kind piece of functional art made just for you.

5. "The scent isn't as strong as factory soap."

• Why it happens: Commercial soaps use heavy synthetic fixatives to make their scents more intense and long-lasting. We intentionally balance our fragrances to be a pleasant, gentle sensory experience that won't irritate your skin or overwhelm your bathroom.
• The Quick Fix: The scent is often most concentrated once you work the bar into a rich lather under warm water, which activates and releases the fragrance notes!

If you’ve tried these steps and your soap is genuinely damaged or defective, we want to make it right! Please reach out to our support team at yourcolorpuppy@gmail.com with your order number and a photo of the bar so we can assist you with an exchange or return.

 

If your order arrives damaged, contact us as soon as possible, within 5 days of delivery. Send photos of the damage, the shipping box, and the packing materials. Keep those materials until we have reviewed the claim.  We will provide instructions after reviewing the photos and handle damage claims in accordance with applicable law.

Handmade soap is a little luxury for your skin, and with the right care, your bars will last significantly longer! Because our soaps are crafted with natural ingredients follow these simple storage rules to keep them fresh, firm, and beautifully aromatic.  In the Shower, keep It high and dry. If you bought a collection set or are saving a seasonal bar for later, keep your unused soap pristine by storing in a cool and dry place, and keep it breathable.  If you live in a highly humid climate, you might notice tiny beads of moisture forming on your unused soap. Don't worry—your soap isn't expiring or melting! The natural glycerin is simply drawing moisture from the air. Just wipe it gently with a paper towel or place it in a less humid room.

Each bar is approximately 4.5 ounces but can vary because of the nature of the ingredients.  The 32-ounce loaves from which ten bars are produced could be affected weight wise by ingredients, gel phase, and/or cooling rate as well as colorants and scents all interact.  These soaps are crafted with a blend of Olive Oil, Coconut Oil, Beef Tallow, Shea Butter, and Castor Oil saponified with Distilled Water and Sodium Hydroxide—because real, traditional soap simply cannot be made without it! We’ve added Sugar to naturally boost and amplify the rich, bubbling effect of the lather, alongside Sodium Dioxide for a clean, brilliant finish and high-quality Fragrance Oils for an indulgent sensory experience. Please note that due to our rich pigments and custom fragrance blends, this bar could possibly stain delicate fabrics; we recommend performing a quick spot test on a washcloth before widespread use.

Each soap is poured by hand, so no two will look exactly alike. The color swirls may vary. These are handcrafted, not manufactured in mass by machines. Scent strength can vary with the fragrance, and these soaps contain a 3% scent throw and made with soap safe fragrance oils.
